In collaboration with the Salon des arts décoratifs 2009, our Guild sponsored a paint-in of Treasure Boxes for children at the Montreal Shriners Hospital. Under the leadership of Esther Vinaric and Johanne Jodoin, our members manned a booth October 16 to 18, explaining who we were and what we were doing. Visitors were encouraged to stop off at our booth and help in the painting of a Treasure Box. No experience was needed and everything was supplied. We had artists such as Bob Pennycook and Tracy Morreau stop by to lend a hand - painting teachers dropped off finished boxes that they had painted for us - and lots and lots of people visiting the Salon stopped by to try their hand at decorative painting. The outcome was amazing! The boxes were exquisite!

In November, our guild members completed the painting of any boxes that were not quite finished, and then all the boxes - over 40 - were varnished, in preparation for the children at the Shriners Hospital. The boxes that left with June plus the ones that many of us continue to paint on a regular basis will put smiles on many faces in the near future.
